It is with sad hearts that the National 4-H Dairy Conference Planning Committee must announce the cancelation of the 2020 National 4-H Dairy Conference. This decision was not made lightly, and health and safety of attending 4-H members and leaders was central to the committee’s final determination.
Although initially the committee planned to delay the final decision on cancelation until July, several determining factors have been clarified in the past weeks to make the execution of this year’s conference an impossibility. National 4-H Dairy Conference prides itself on bringing together 4-H dairy enthusiasts from across the country to a central location to introduce them to careers in dairy and create opportunities for networking with other youth.
With the public health orders and restrictions in place related to the COVID-19 pandemic, an ability to provide the high standard of programming became unfeasible. Further, the cancelation of World Dairy Expo takes away one of the largest activities of the week.
This will mark the first cancelation of National 4-H Dairy Conference since its initiation in 1954. We look forward to seeing you again for National 4-H Dairy Conference in September 2021.
